Downtown Placerville seeks tagline

The Placerville Downtown Association is inviting the community and visitors to help define Main Street’s brand, character, style and personality with a tagline promotion.

Cities all over the U.S. have created a unique tagline or motto to help identify their cities. Las Vegas has the tagline “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” and Reno has “The biggest little city in the world.”

The winning tagline and creator will be announced at the Main Street Matters Reveal Celebration on June 21 around 5 p.m.

This year will be an extra special year for Placerville with the revitalization and repainting of some buildings on Main Street in June, thanks to Benjamin Moore and its “Paint What Matters Contest.” Placerville was one of the winners last summer, so creating a fresh tagline seems appropriate.

To create a tagline and enter an idea visit one of the participating merchants on Main Street and fill out the form before Sunday, May 11.

The winner will receive two tickets to the Belltower Brewfest and two tickets to the Art and Wine Festival, both popular events on Main Street.

For more information contact Jill Barnes at Cuppa Coffee and More at 530-626-9600 or Annette Schoonover at Winterhill Olive Oil at 530-626-6369.
