Downtown Placerville seeks new tagline

The Placerville Downtown Association is inviting the community and visitors to help define Main Street’s brand, character, style and personality with a tagline promotion.

Cities all over the U.S. have created a unique tagline or motto to help identify their municipality. Well-known examples include Las Vegas —  “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” and Reno — “The biggest little city in the world.”

The winning tagline and its creator will be announced at the Main Street Matters Reveal Celebration on June 21 around 5 p.m.

This year will be an extra special year with the revitalization and repainting of some buildings on Main Street in June, thanks to Benjamin Moore and its “Paint What Matters Contest.” Placerville was one of the winners last summer, so creating a fresh tagline seems appropriate.

How to enter an idea

Participating Main Street merchants will collect tagline suggestions in their shops from April 11 through May 11.

The association’s board of directors and its members will then vote on their favorite taglines

The winner will receive two tickets to the Belltower Brewfest and two tickets to the Art and Wine Festival, both popular events on Placerville’s Main Street.

Help put Placerville on the tagline on the map and be a winner.
