El Dorado alumni present scholarships

The El Dorado High School Alumni Association recently presented six graduating seniors from local high schools with scholarships to use at accredited colleges and trade schools of their choice.

The winners are: Raeven Barrett, El Dorado High School, $ 1 ,500 plus the Bill Davy award of $1,000; Jordan Parlin, Ponderosa High School, $1,500 and the Dola Albusche award of $1,000; Joy Lomax, El Dorado, $1,500 and the Margaret Scherrer award of $500; Jeremy Parlin, Ponderosa, $1,500 plus Arlene Howe Barooshian award of $500; Dakota Spencer, Ponderosa, $ 1,500; and Corinna Jacobs, Oak Ridge High School, $ 1 ,500.

Each year the Alumni Association is happy to support college-bound seniors to continue their education which in turn benefits the entire community.

The scholarship monies are earned through memorials, contributions, donations and fundraisers.

The association invites anyone who has attended El Dorado High School to attend the annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 8 at noon at High Hill Ranch on Carson Road in Camino
