Clubs, groups, businesses or individuals are invited to sponsor a candidate to participate in this year’s festivities and to honor her for contributions to the community.
Qualifications to be nominated for the 2014 El Dorado Rose are: at least 60 years of age, lived in El Dorado County for at least 10 years and contributed non-career volunteer service to the community.
The deadline to submit an application is May 1 and the pageant takes place during the El Dorado County Fair, June 12 to 5.
The El Dorado Rose and her court serve as ambassadors for El Dorado County and attend and participate in many fun and exciting events.
It is a tradition for the sponsoring group to have a reception for its candidate to introduce her to the community.
El Dorado County has received not only local, but state and national recognition for the El Dorado Rose pageant.
