Samantha Leigh Gillmor and Matthew Michael Smith, both of Placerville, have announced their engagement.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Mardelle Gillmor of Pollock Pines. She is a 1997 El Dorado High School graduate, and a graduate of Central Valley ROP Cosmetology. She works as a hairstylist.

The groom is the son of Gloria Mullins of Placerville and Michael Smith of Millersburg, Ohio. He is a 1991 Ponderosa High School graduate and a graduate from Al Collins Graphic Design School in Tempe, Ariz. where he graduated with an AA degree in graphic design. He works as a graphic designer and barista. He previously worked as a graphic designer at the Mountain Democrat for 16 years.

The wedding is scheduled in 2013 in Placerville. The couple plans to reside in Placerville after their wedding.
