This September, Fairytale Town will highlight the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren with a new after-school program and a celebration for National Grandparents Day on Sunday, Sep. 9.
During Grandparents Month at Fairytale Town, grandparents and school-age grandchildren who visit Fairytale Town together after school will enjoy free admission.
Activities, ranging from chalk art and dance jams to scavenger hunts and obstacle courses, will also be available.
Free admission and activities are available after 2 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, through Sep. 28.
Families are encouraged to bring Grandma and Grandpa for an enjoyable day of play in the park on Sunday, Sep. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in celebration of the 33rd annual National Grandparents Day. Grandparents receive free admission when accompanied with a child ages 12 and under.
“Grandparents Month is a great opportunity for grandchildren and grandparents to establish deeper bonds with each other through quality play time and create experiences that each will remember for the rest of their lives,” said Kathy Fleming, executive director at Fairytale Town.
Both programs are sponsored by ScholarShare College Savings Plan.
