By From page B4 | November 23, 2012

SACRAMENTO — Fairytale Town gives thanks to the Sacramento community by offering two free admission days during the holiday season.

On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fairytale Town offers free admission to families who bring a canned food item for the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services — Holiday Spirit of Giving Food Drive.

The day also includes free arts and crafts activities and a puppet show. Tickets for the puppet show are $1 for Fairytale Town members and $2 for nonmembers.

Fairytale Town, 3901 Land Park Drive in Sacramento, is a non-profit children’s park and educational center whose mission is to promote the imagination, creativity and education of children. Established in 1959, Fairytale Town is home to 25 three-dimensional play sets based on favorite fairy tales and nursery rhymes, a family of 22 rare and miniature breed animals, three interactive learning gardens and two performing arts stages.

“The Free Admission Days are our opportunity to give back to our community,” said Kathy Fleming, executive director of Fairytale Town. “It’s also a great opportunity for families to escape the hustle and bustle of the season for a few leisurely hours of play.”

From November through February, the park is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
