Gold Country Artists donate to food bank

The Food Bank of El Dorado County relies on its community donors to ensure its continued annual operations. Community sponsors like Gold Country Artists Gallery allows the food bank to carry out its mission of “Preventing Hunger — Providing Hope” throughout El Dorado County.

Gold Country Artists Gallery board of directors selected the Food Bank of El Dorado County as this year’s community charity recipient. Each year, Gold Country Artists Gallery saves a percentage of its annual proceeds received from the Third Saturday Art Walk, held on Main Street in Placerville, to donate to a charity in the community.

This year, Gold Country Artists Gallery presented a check for more than $1,350 to the Food Bank of El Dorado County.

Hopefully the gallery’s commitment to the community may inspire other businesses and organizations to join in the fight to end local hunger, food bank personnel said.

Gold Country Artists Gallery is a local art gallery that strives to give back to the community.

“Gold Country Artists Gallery’s donation and commitment to the community is as beautiful as the art they sell,” said Carey Fong, food bank communications and development director.

“As a 55-year resident of the Placerville area, it is heartwarming to know that I am surrounded by other artists who value this community as much as I do. The gallery members are proud to give back to the community that supports them,” said Gold Country Artists Gallery artist Craig Koski.
The food bank is proud to work with sponsors such as Gold Country Artists Gallery.

“Thank you Gold Country Artists Gallery, your partnership with the food bank is a stimulus to local businesses aspiring to give back to our community; ensuring continued community support to those who need it most,” said Fong. “El Dorado County is a very giving community and we look forward to working with many more businesses this year.”

If your business or organization would like more information on how to become a sponsor of the food bank call Fong at 530-621-9950 or e-mail cfong@foodbankedc.org.

Contributions can be mailed to the Food Bank of El Dorado County at 4550 Business Drive, Cameron Park or online at foodbankedc.org.
