Gold Country Artists Gallery announces its fourth annual “Small Wonders” special show for the holidays.
This exhibit runs through Jan. 6.
Every year the gallery artists devote a whole wall to a large panel made up of 6 inch by 6 inch small works or miniatures. Most of the 45 gallery members participate.
Some works are three dimensional such as gourds, wood or jewelry. Others are exquisite paintings, photographs or other unusual creations. All are one-of-a-kind pieces.
The wall as a whole resembles a large patch work quilt but each piece is for sale separately and is very reasonable priced for a unique gift.
The gallery also offers a corner featuring a Christmas boutique which contains special artwork by the members that is not the normal medium for the artist.
The gallery also has beautifully hand-created Christmas ornaments and Christmas cards. The artists work in many mediums — oil, watercolors, acrylics, photography, gourds, glass, pottery, wood, jewelry, mosaic, collage, abstract, encaustic, mixed media and textiles.
The Gold Country Artists Gallery is located at 379 Main St. in Placerville and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday evenings until 8 p.m. until Christmas.
