The “Derby Day 2014: Hats On For the Kids” fundraiser on Saturday, May 3, celebrates the 140th Kentucky Derby while raising awareness and resources for vulnerable children and their families.
The event features a live broadcast of the Derby races on multiple big screen TVs; delicious authentic southern food by Mulvaney’s Bar and Lounge; hosted wine and beer; ladies’ hat contest; live jazz band featuring Frankie Sorci; unique and exciting live auction items; and convenient valet parking for $5 per vehicle.
This is the one signature event that Lilliput Children’s Services has to raise unrestricted program dollars and to promote community awareness. All net proceeds will be used to augment community services that are otherwise unfunded or underfunded through our government contracts.
For more than 30 years Lilliput has been helping abused and neglected children by connecting them with a safe, loving and permanent family. They complete more than 500 foster adoptions each year; the most of any private agency in California. Lilliput is a nonprofit dedicated to keeping children safe and out of the welfare system.
The fundraiser takes place from 1-5 p.m. at Mulvaney’s Bar and Lounge, 1215 19th St. in Sacramento.
