Imagination Theater, located in Placerville on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, has received 10 Elly Award nominations for 2012-13 production.

The funny British Farce, “Run for Your Wife,” received three nominations including Lanny Langston for direction, Chris Celestin for supporting actor and Virgil Toothaker for set design.

The theater also received nominations for its production of “The Secret Garden” — Carol Cramer for costume design and two nominations for “The Little Mermaid Jr.” including Kim Havercroft and Pam Harrison for costume design and Marc Bonham for sound design.

Dale Wallerstein and Tori Kientz received nominations for supporting adult actress in ”The Little Princess” in a Young People’s Musical and Trinity Harwell for supporting child actress. Karen Wolfe also was nominated for costumes.

The 31st annual Elly Awards are presented by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA) and honor outstanding achievements of community theaters and artists in the Sacramento area. The Elly Awards are named for the late Eleanor McClatchy, who was a devoted patron of the local arts. Awards will be presented in September in Sacramento.

Imagination Theater, a nonprofit organization, is now in the 13th season of presenting live theater in El Dorado County. The next two productions are the thrilling dark comedy, “Deathtrap,” playing from Sept. 6 to 29 and the Tony award-winning, full Broadway musical, “Les Miserables,” playing Nov. 29 to Dec. 29.

Tickets and information about these shows can be found at imagination-theater.org or by calling 530-642-0404.
