Chili is cooking at Kirkwood

By From page B10 | August 30, 2013

Taste chili from the region’s best chili makers and vote for a favorite at the 12th annual Thin Air Chili Cook-off. The event takes place at the Kirkwood Village Plaza on Saturday, Aug. 31 from noon to 5 p.m.

The judging this year will feature cash prizes for winning home-made chili as well as a prize for those recipes prepared by professional chefs.

Enjoy wine and beer tasting, live music featuring Out of Bounds, a Kids Zone with a bounce house, arts and crafts and face painting; pony rides and an area with toss games.

The cost for chili, wine and beer tasting kits is $30 for adults and this includes a commemorative glass. Chili tasting alone is $10. Kids Zone is $10.

A portion of the net proceeds benefits the Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department.
