IT presents a holiday gift

This holiday season from Nov. 29 through Dec. 29 the most successful professional musical production in theater history is being produced by Imagination Theater.

The musical “Les Miserables” has been seen by nearly 60 million people in 40 countries and has been translated into 20 languages.

Victor Hugo’s story of love, hope and redemption is set against the backdrop of the French Revolution and the IT production includes a live symphony orchestra, colossal scenery and staging, and one of the largest casts of adult and young performers ever assembled in El Dorado County.

Imagination Theater is proud to be entering its 14th season of contributing to the cultural fabric of the community. This is happening due to the public-spirited donations of an ever-growing number of supporters and audience members.

Throughout the years Imagination Theater has remained true to its commitment to set ticket prices as low as responsibly possible to keep live theater experiences accessible to as many members of the community as possible.

General admission for “Les Miserables” is $15. This admission price represents about 60 per-cent of what most comparable venues charge. Imagination Theater is proud of its efforts to run a lean and efficient organization and hold the line on ticket prices. Generous support makes it all possible.

Theater goers are invited to a very special preview performance of “Les Miserables” on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. This exciting formal-attire event will allow audience members to experience the production one week prior to its opening for the general public.

There will be a full performance of the show, appetizers, coffee, desserts and wine-tasting along with a mystery celebrity host.

Tickets for the gala preview are $75 with a portion of the ticket price helping with the production costs, training programs for young performers and “keeping the lights on in the theater.”

Call the theater box office at 530-642-0404 or go to imaginationtheater.net to purchase tickets.
