Jackson Rancheria presents ‘Cool Blues and Hot Jazz’

By April 26, 2011

The 33rd annual Mother Lode Hot Jazz Party will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1.

This year’s party promises to be the best ever with the addition of an evening of cool blues and consolidation of the entire event into one location.

Instead of moving both performers and party goers around among multiple venues, the entire party is being held in the beautiful new outdoor event area next to the Jackson Rancheria Hotel.

New this year is an evening of cool blues on Saturday, April 30. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the music begins at 5 p.m. Maxx Cabello Jr. will open, followed by headliner Tommy Castro.

The hot jazz party is on Sunday, May 1, with doors opening at 9 a.m. and the music flowing at 10 a.m.

Tom Rigney and Flambeau will headline, joined by Dr Bach and the Jazz Practitioners, JassCity Jazz Band, Tess and Hip Trash, Speakeazy Jazz Orchestra, and First Take featuring Rick Metz. Entertaining between sets will be the youth group ACUS’D Jazz Band.

Free parking is available in the garage, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $25 for one day, $40 for both days, and are only available at the Dreamcatcher’s Club® in the Casino.

“The annual Mother Lode Jazz Party is not only one of the most anticipated musical events in this region, but also a major contributor to local non-profit organizations,” noted Jackson Rancheria CEO Rich Hoffman. “Over the three-plus decades, proceeds from this event have contributed over $300,000 to area organizations. We’re proud to announce that this year’s party will benefit ARC, the Jackson Revitalization Committee, and Friends of Amador Music.”

Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel is located at 12222 New York Ranch Road, Jackson.
