Konstruction Junction, is the name of this year’s Brewster Society Kaleidoscope Convention on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and June 1, at the downtown Holiday Inn in Sacramento.

Workshops are for the registered attendees but the showroom and sales room is open to the public Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from noon-4 p.m. The showroom event is free.

There will be hundreds of kaleidoscopes to view and the artists will be available for questions on how they make such incredible works of art. The colors, techniques, size and angles are amazing to see. Since this is a rotating event, having a turn in Sacramento is a rare opportunity and a wonderful chance to see these fascinating objects.

“It is the most amazing time you will spend. Colors, shapes and variety of techniques make this an amazing experience. It will jump start your imagination,” said Lori Riley, one of the artists.

Kaleidoscopes are more than just a toy. Creating what you will see in the free showroom is a specific and exact science practiced by many artists. They present a final product unique and inviting to the sense of color, motion, dimension, pleasure and wonder.
