Learn to paint white flowers in watercolors

El Dorado count artist Tracy Lewis is offering an indoor watercolor workshop for all levels of artists on Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Painting White Flowers in Watercolor” will take place at Petroglyphe Gallery, 8317 Main St. in Mokelumne Hill.

In this one-day workshop, participants will learn to use the white of the paper and subtle temperature changes in shadows to create colorful white flowers.

Lewis will demonstrate her techniques for clean, luminous paintings using wet into wet and glazing with a limited palette.

She teaches workshops throughout Northern California and works primarily in transparent watercolor and is a purest in her approach to the medium.

Layering luminous transparent glazes of pure hue gives her work a candy coat of Easter-like color.

Artists from neophyte to expert are invited to the Petroglyphe Gallery for this exciting workshop of visual discovery.
