Light up the Night at Tahoe Donner

By
November 22, 2013 |

It’s more than just a tree lighting, it’s an evening of festive celebrations and fun for the entire family.

Thanksgiving weekend is a family favorite at Tahoe Donner with the official kickoff to the holiday season taking place at Tahoe Donner’s Light up the Night event, Saturday, Nov. 30, from 5-8 p.m. at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub in Truckee.

This special evening celebrates the start of the holiday season with Tahoe Donner’s eighth annual tree lighting ceremony. A host of other festivities take place including reindeer games, Santa’s arts and crafts workshop, hot chocolate and s’mores, letters to Santa, storytelling by Mrs. Claus, caroling, photos with Santa, and the lighting of the tree as the grand finale.

Kids ages 13 and under will receive a free raffle ticket and one lucky child whose raffle ticket is drawn will get to light the tree at 6 p.m. Kids are also encouraged to bring a camera so they can get their photo taken with Santa.

Give back to the community by bringing canned items for the Project MANA food drive. Plus, there will also be a raffle with Tahoe Donner prizes with proceeds going to Project MANA.

Bring the entire family for a fun and festive evening. This event is free and for all ages.
