Link–Up to help children

“Healing All Together — Snowline Hospice’s Place for Grieving Children, Teens and Their Families” began as a pilot program in January 2009 as a place where children and their families could work through their feelings after the death of a loved one.

During the past four school years, 75 children ages 5 to 18 have found a place of healing; a place where they — alongside peers who have suffered a similar loss — can convey through art, motion, music or play what words alone cannot express.

The initial sessions of “Healing All Together” were so successful that Snowline now offers “Healing All Together” on a regular basis.

Three years ago, Snowline Hospice started the “Link-Up” campaign to raise funds for the children’s program.

This year the community once again has an opportunity to “Link-Up” with young people in grief by helping to provide the financial support needed to serve more children and their families this fall.

During August, Link-Up Poles will be located at all six Snowline Thrift Store locations and at the administrative office.

These brightly painted poles will be housed at these locations until Friday, Aug. 31 to allow community members to attach a paper “link” signifying their encouragement and support of young people entering the “Healing All Together” program.

Links cost $1 each, and 100 percent of each dollar given goes directly toward funding the “Healing All Together” program.

At the end of the campaign, all of the link chains will be joined to create one long “healing chain” expressing the communities support of this important program.

“Healing All Together — Snowline Hospice’s Place for Grieving Children, Teens and Their Families” is a service of Snowline Hospice, and as such the program is free of charge to residents of El Dorado County, the city of Folsom and other neighboring areas.
