Lodi wine show is more than tasting

The 2012 Lodi Spring Wine Show will be held Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31 at the Lodi Grape Festival grounds and is definitely “more than just a wine tasting.”

The Show will feature not only wine from more than 40 wineries, but also tasty treats from local restaurants and caterers and a wide variety of vendors.

Participating food providers and menus include: Alebrijes Mexican Bistro — Mexican food; The Breadfruit Tree — barbecue cheese central, specialty cheese sampler and wine and cheese pairing; Edible Arrangements — fresh fruit bouquets and chocolate dipped fruit; F&M Bank — barbecue sausage from Lakewood Meats; Habanero Hots — chicken chiliquiles; Jan’s Sweet Treasures — cake, bars, chocolate fountain; Morada Eats — hors de’oeuvres; Raley’s — cheese, bread, crackers, chocolate, dips; and Wine and Roses — Serrano ham and manchego cheese.

Commercial vendors selling goods include: All Bottled Up — recycled wine bottles, wind chimes, tealights, candelabras, flower vases; The Barrel Guys — furniture made out of wine barrels; Coldani Olive Oil — Calivirgin — olive oil and balsamic vinegar; Cowgirl Nuts — fresh roasted cinnamon almonds; Dove Chocolate Discoveries — samples of Dove chocolate products, book parties and take orders; Elk Grove KIA — display of two new cars; Hand Crafted Lights by Tami — custom lights made of gourds; Lodi Cooks — sale of aprons, towels and wine accessories; Lodi News Sentinel — subscription information and specials; Lucero Olive Oil — olive oil and balsamic vinegar; Merrilyn’s Gourmet Fudge — wine fudge, peanut brittle, bird houses; Michele’s Jewelry Box — custom jewelry; A Moveable Feast — sandwiches and fries; The Pasta Queen — fresh pasta, sauce, spreads, olive oil, dried pasta; The Record — subscription information and specials; Sierra Olive Oil — olive oil, flavored olive oil, balsamic vinegar; Sweet Naturals Jewelry — handmade jewelry from semi-precious stones; Tres Classique — olive oil, balsamic vinegar; and Wine Country Photography — photographs.

The 2012 Lodi Spring Wine Show is in the Ole Mettler Grape Pavilion at the Lodi Grape Festival grounds, 413 E. Lockeford St. in Lodi.

The show is from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are only $30 in advance and $35 at the door, and can be purchased at grapefestival.com, Raley’s Camera Department in Lodi, Van Ruiten Family Winery, Lodi Wine Cellars, cellardoor, Lodi Avenue Liquors or the Lodi Grape Festival Office.
