A double star-studded rockin’ evening of music with Jonny Mojo and Cash Prophets with “The Gospel According to Johnny Cash,” will happen at Manzanita Kitchen and Events, 4232 Fowler Lane, Suite 101 in Diamond Springs, on Friday, July 25 from 6-11 p.m.
Cash Prophets is a family band consisting of Bobby Dickson, his two sons, Nate “Twitch” Dickson, Bob “Hell Guapo” Dickson and friend, Robert “BB Bump McKay” Crosthwaite.
They pay tribute to Johnny Cash music in the fashion of the 1950s Sun Record era recordings.
Vocalist Bobby Dickson seems to have been touched by the hands of Cash, channeling the legend himself while Bob Jr., has the uncanny stylings of Luther Perkins down to a T. Nate brings the Marshall Grant bass lines and walks that doghouse bass and BB pulls the W. S. Holland train shuffles like no other.
Jonny Mojo, a local celebrity, will play foothill jamgrass, rock and blues, taking the stage solo acoustic, while dinner is served.
Limited pre-sale tickets are available for VIP seating for $35. A VIP ticket includes exclusive early entry for the Jonny Mojo acoustic set at 6 p.m. and a delicious farm-to-table dinner. Please select your entrée when you buy your ticket and include any dietary restrictions in the comments as the staff at Manzanita Kitchen is happy to accommodate them.
General pre-sale tickets for the concert are $12 and at-the-door tickets are $15. Standard tickets include the Cash Prophets performance only. Doors open at 8 p.m. for general tickets. Outside courtyard patio seating will be open for all standard ticket holders.
Local wines, beer and light appetizers will be available for purchase.
