Troubadour Marc Black is playing at the Cozmic Café, 594 Main St. in Placerville, on Friday, Dec. 6.

Black plays a finger style blues in the traditions of Mississippi Hurt and the great Tim Hardin. He has performed and recorded with Pete Seeger, Art Garfunkel, Taj Mahal, Happy Traum and John Sebastian, to name a few.

One of his tunes, “No Fracking Way,” has become a worldwide anthem for the movement. His “Pictures of the Highway” CD featuring “Ooh I Love My Coffee” reached No. 6 on the Folk DJ Chart and one of his YouTube videos, “I Love You Rachel Maddow,” has been viewed more than 50,000 times.

Well travelled, he just returned from his first tour in Israel where he played at the Jacob’s Ladder Folk Festival.
