Master Food Preservers: Canning safely at home en Espanol

The Master Food Preservers of El Dorado County will kick off its summer and fall safe home food preservation classes and will offer a food safety and basic water bath canning class in Spanish on Saturday, June 28, at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds’ board room in Placerville.

The class is from 10 a.m.-noon and includes instructions and demonstrations of techniques. Food Safety and Water Bath Canning, in English, will be taught on Tuesday, July 8, and Saturday, July 12.

Master Food Preservers is proud to announce its first ever class in Spanish — Seguridad y Conservacion Alimenteria. Like all the preserving classes it is free and no pre-registration is required. The class will follow the content and format of the on-going free public classes throughout the harvest season of July through October.

Se invita a los hispanohablantes que quieren aprender acerca de la seguridad alimentaria y los métodos de enlatado baño de agua seguras para asistir a nuestra primera clase nunca en Español — Seguridad y Conservación Alimenteria.

Como todas nuestras clases preservando es gratis y no requiere inscripción previa. Los asistentes aprenderán cómo mantener a los métodos de conservación de alimentos de su familia de alimentos seguros y básicos, entre ellos conservas baño de agua.

La clase se llevará a cabo el sábado 28 de junio en el recinto ferial del condado Sala de Juntas de El Dorado en Placerville. La clase es de 10 a.m. hasta el mediodía e incluye instrucciones y demostraciones de técnicas.

This year’s annual series of free UCCE El Dorado County Master Food Preservers classes are from 10 a.m.-noon in the El Dorado County Fairground’s board room, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville.

Master Food Preservers are also available to answer home food preservation questions; leave a message at 530-621-5506.
