Master Gardener free class

There is a UCCE/El Dorado County Master Gardener free class open to the public on Wednesday, June 4 from 9-10 a.m.

The class Show What You Grow at the Fair is to encourage local gardeners to participate in the 2014 El Dorado County Fair, June 12 through June 15.

To help in preparing your entries, this class features a National Garden Club Accredited Flower Show judge.

The class will include tips on presentation techniques and entry guidelines.

Information on how to enter the competition can be found at eddoradocouontyfair.org/entry.html.

It is important to know that a paper entry form must be submitted to the fair office before the deadline.

The “Flowers and Plants” divisions include: floral arrangements; dried, fresh and silk flowers: and mini gardens.

The “Fruits and Veggies” divisions include: fruits, vegetables, herbs, berries, nuts and other garden produce.

There are divisions for adults, teens, youth and 4H/FFA.

The class is in the floriculture building, El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive, Placerville
