Where do they get their inspiration?
How did they get published?
How do they put together that perfect combination of words to create a symphony of images and characters and plot?
Join an exalted cast of published authors for a two-day extravaganza of books, books and more books at the Local Author Showcase presented by the El Dorado County Library in Placerville, 345 Fair Lane. The catalogue of authors is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 19.
Each day of the showcase opens, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a presentation by five different authors where attendees can learn the authors’ secrets to success, their different paths to publishing and more.
From 2 to 4 p.m., enjoy an Author Meet ‘n’ Greet where everyone can participate in one-on-one conversations with the authors and purchase autographed copies of their works.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, meet authors Helen Bonner, Lisa Butler, Yvonne Kohano, Marlies Schmudlach Perez and Cindy Sample.
The following Saturday, Oct. 19, features authors Keli Gwyn, Karen Sandler, Susan Salluce, Betty Sederquist and Betty Shannon.
These authors offer something for everyone with their works of fiction, mystery, romance, local history, non-fiction, young adult science fiction and more.
Two consecutive Saturdays. Ten different authors. If you love the written word and are as impressed by those who have the talent to patch together tomes to both fascinate and educate, the Local Author Showcase is the perfect event.
The Showcase is free and open to the public.
