Modern Grass performs in Sutter Creek

The Sutter Creek Theater, 44 Main St. in Sutter Creek, presents the Modern Grass — the “Chieftans” of newgrass on Saturday, Feb. at 8 p.m.

The Modern Grass was born in early 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has since released five albums and toured the nation extensively and relentlessly.

The group’s latest award-winning album, “High on the Mountain,” (Music Nova Scotia country/bluegrass album of the year and roots/traditional album of the year) explores new territory in folk, roots and bluegrass music alike.
