The Mondavi Center, UC Davis announces Tony Bennett, appearing Wednesday, May 25, at 8 p.m. Like the variety of performances in the robust 2010-11 season, this “just added” event represents the range, quality and dynamism on which the Mondavi Center has built its reputation.

The world’s most boyish octogenarian, Tony Bennett is a vital musical legend. As the singer’s singer, Bennett’s indelible renditions of songs like “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and “The Good Life” serve as musical gold standards.

Bennett is also an international treasure, honored by the United Nations with its “Citizen of the World” award, which aptly describes the scope of his accomplishment.

An artist in every sense of the word, from polished stage performances to an acclaimed career as a painter, Bennett brings the wealth of his amazing life to bear on every song he sings.

Expect this Renaissance man’s long-overdue Mondavi Center debut to be one of the true highlights of the 2010–11 season.

The performance will take place in the Mondavi Center’s Jackson Hall, conveniently located just off I-80 on the UC Davis campus.

Tickets for the performance are available from the Mondavi Center ticket office at 530-754-2787 or online at MondaviArts.org.
