MontBleu offers a cool winter lineup

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Tahoe’s MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa is on a roll (montbleuresort.com/) presenting film festivals, comedy and holiday events.

Ski and board season revelry continues with the 11th annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival Saturday, Dec. 8 at MontBleu. This fast paced, high energy series of films covers a spectrum of heart-pounding sports like wing suit base jumping, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, skating and mountain biking.

Many of the segments are exclusive edits including previews of movies that have not yet been released. The main event commences at 7 p.m., showcasing glimpses from the best action sports films of the year.

The punch bowl will be spiked with plenty of one-liners and laughs in December when MontBleu brings back the antics of comedian Daniel Tosh for a one-night-only sold-out performance, Dec. 15. The stand-up comedian and television host of the wildly-popular Comedy Central video clip show, Tosh.0, will make his second Lake Tahoe appearance in the MontBleu Theater.

Every week, Tosh pushes the envelope with his spinning commentary about blogs and vlogs both popular and obscure, tweets and pokes, popular sites and new technologies.

The End of the World Mayan theme party is at Opal with free drinks for the ladies, $1 Fireball shots, $1 Zombies and $1 Armageddons, on Friday, Dec. 21.

If MontBleu survives the end of the world it will host its popular New Year’s Eve Nightclub Party — three-parties-in-one: Opal Ultra Lounge, blu nightclub and the 14,000 sq. ft. convention center for high-spirited revelry to ring 2013.

This year MontBleu will have a Brazilian theme, “2013 Starts with Some Spice,” to flavor the evening with live music, free party favors, champagne, go-go dancers and body painting all night/morning long.
