The Cozmic Café, 594 Main St. in Placerville, is presenting a fabulous evening of musical entertainment on Saturday, July 21.
Brian Oberlin, from Portland, Ore., plays solo swing mandolin with vocals. He also delves into many other genres including western swing, bluegrass and classical Italian mandolin.
Along with concerts as a soloist, Oberlin plays with his duo, bass plus mandolin, around the world and is a member of the GER Mandolin Orchestra with Mike Marshall and Avi Avital (mandoberlin.com).
Also performing Saturday night will be Cheryll and Fred Kent with, pedal steel Western Swing Hall of Fame member Dave Wren.
Cheryll is known for her pure and natural country style vocals and rhythm guitar.
This trio, from the Hickory Wind Band, will be joined by Oberlin for part of the night for some of their “not your normal country” music.
This combination of talent should prove to provide an enjoyable evening of country, folk, bluegrass, roots and swing.
