What: The 47th annual National Mother Lode Art Exhibition

When: Through Sunday, Aug. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 47th annual National Mother Lode Art Exhibition continues at the Placerville Shakespeare Club, 2940 Bedford Ave. in Placerville, through Sunday, Aug. 25.
The exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. including Sundays and on Aug. 25 there will be a reception and the presentation of awards beginning at 3 p.m.
The show features two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art from realism to abstract and experimental in a wide variety of media, in categories of seascape, landscape, portrait, still life, animals, miniature and experimental are all a part of this show. Photography and digital art have been added to the media list this year.
This year’s judge was Terry Miura. He spent six years in New York as a freelance illustrator for such clients as Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated and Newsweek. Eventually he and his family moved to Fair Oaks where he has continued painting.
The show’s juror this year was Margaret Welty. She is an adjunct professor of art at Folsom Lake College where she has served on the faculty for more than 20 years.

Many national and California award-winning artists are participating and the art will be available for purchase.
