America’s award-winning guitarist and harp-guitarist Muriel Anderson will appear at a house concert in Shingle Springs on Friday, Jan.18.

Widely respected as one of the world’s foremost guitarists and harp-guitarists, Anderson is the first woman to have won the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship.

She is host of the renowned “Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night” and founder of the Music for Life Alliance charity.

Anderson has released eight CD’s, four instructional DVD’s and guitar books published by Hal Leonard, Mel Bay and Zen-on Japan.

Her music can be heard in Woody Allen’s film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and her “Heartstrings” recording accompanied the astronauts on the space shuttle Discovery.

Anderson’s ability across the genres of folk, classical, jazz, bluegrass and international music is revered by guitarists worldwide. Touring in the United States and internationally year round, she delights audiences with her technique and captures their hearts with her gentle sense of humor.

This house concert is open to the public and begins at 8 p.m. on Jan.18.

Tickets are $20.
