Music and magic team up in Reno

Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno promises an interesting lineup of shows and activities for January, including live band events, karaoke and magic.

Live bands and DJ are nightly at the Brew Brothers with Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Monday nights in January feature live band karaoke followed by Brew Club Tuesdays with Alice 96.5 FM and DJ Chris English and Student Body Thursdays with KDOT 104.5 FM.

Featured events include a Saturday, Jan. 5 “Elvis and Friends Pub Tour” at the Eldorado Reno, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. The fun begins at 7 p.m. For $5, participants receive a cup and map. There are eight stops offering such things as $2 Coors Lights and $3 themed drink specials, $3 Brew Brothers Beer and $3 Fireball Whiskey.

Live bands at Brew Brothers in January include The Crashers, Jan. 2 through 6; Left of Centre, Jan. 9 through 13; Mimic, Jan. 16 through 20; Audioboxx, Jan. 23 through 27 and Steel Breeze, Jan. 30 through Feb.3.

Friday and Saturday events begin at 10:30 p.m while Sunday through Thursday events begin at 10 p.m.

Kevin and Caruso put excitement and fun into the art of illusion with their award winning stage spectacular, “Magique,” in the Eldorado Showroom Jan. 22 through April 14.

Staged and directed by seven-time “Show of the Year” recipient, Misstinguett, “Magique” blends grand illusions, pyrotechnics and dazzling costumes with a dose of comedy and a splash of cirque.

Prepare for a magical evening and reserve tickets for “Magique” in the Eldorado Showroom.

Tickets start at $21.95 with dinner and show packages available from $31.95. Performances run Tuesday and Friday at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 7 and 9:30 p.m.

The BuBinga Lounge at the Eldorado features Skyy High Fridays with Wild 102.9, Roni Romance and DJ Dragon and Addiction Saturdays with Roni Romance and xm fredie, as well as an Ikonic Birthday Bash on Jan.11.

Doors open at 9 p.m.

Jan.26, come to the Snowball, a benefit for the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program.

At Roxy’s Bar and Lounge sample all 102 of Reno’s “Best Martinis” and January’s Martini of the Month, the “Berry Happy New Year Martini.”

There is live piano, jazz and vocals nightly, Sundays through Thursdays, 4:30 p.m. until closing and Fridays and Saturdays 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. until closing.

The Cin Cin Bar and Lounge offers happy hour 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. daily with $5 wines by the glass, fresh artisan cocktails and half-off appetizers.
