New class at Green Valley

By From page B12 | September 04, 2013

Is there a pre-teen or teen in your home? Are you concerned about the unique pressures they face in today’s world?

Join a dynamic two-hour discussion of the top issues facing many youth. Hear first-hand from experts in the field about topics such as peer pressure, eating disorders, cutting, substance abuse, bullying, and sexual issues.

This is a first-ever community collaborative event that will address these issues in an honest and straight-forward manner.

Green Valley Community Church has assembled a top-notch panel from the community with professionals in the fields of mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, behavior therapy and family support.

Participating agencies include El Dorado County Mental Health, New Morning Youth and Family Services, the Boys and Girls Club, the Center for Violence-free Relationships, the Landing and Green Valley Community Church.

The class will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept.13, in  Room 307 at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road in Placerville.

There is a $5 cost per person and refreshments will be provided.
