Outdoor movies at the library

Looking for fun activities for the whole family? Join the El Dorado County Library for the summertime fun of Filmfare.

Bring a lawn chair, blanket, etc. and sit on the front lawn of the El Dorado County Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville, and enjoy offbeat and often silly projector films from all different genres and for all different tastes.

Filmfare kicks off with a retro collection of out-of-this-world short films about space on Saturday, May 18, at 8:45 pm. Enjoy old science class selections such as “Comet” and “Controversy Over the Moon.”

Films are shown outdoors during good weather and inside the library meeting room if it rains. Filmfare is not-for-profit but donations are always welcome. Donations (less expenses) go to the Friends of the Library.

Films are shown every three weeks through October.

For more information on these and other El Dorado County Library events visit the library programs and events calendar on the library’s Website or contact the library at 530-621-5540.
