Photographer Paul Cockrell to teach photo techniques

By April 20, 2011

Paul Cockrell’s next half day photography workshop is Saturday, April 23.

This workshop is an overview of digital photography and Photoshop and is geared to the beginning and intermediate level photographer.

Cockrell will also go over processing HDR images using CS5. The workshop is 3-4 hours and will be starting at 1 p.m. at the studio/gallery, 3629 Indian Creek Court in Placerville.

There will be cookies, hot coffee and soft drinks.

Bring your digital camera and camera manual, plus a few images on a flash card or jump drive. The images can be either ones you have worked on and are happy with or ones that you think need help.

Towards the end of the workshop Cockrell will load some of those into his computer and show some potential adjustments in Photoshop. Either RAW, psd, or jpeg format is fine.

The workshop is in two parts, with the first part being instruction time going over photography in general, digital cameras, and Photoshop. For the second part we will spend a short time outside photographing some of the outbuildings and/or trees around the studio to demonstrate composition and camera settings. And then we will go back inside and process those images through Photoshop, and next, the images brought by the participants.
