“We are honored to offer the Curves Food Drive as a unique way for the Placerville area community to come together and feed the need of our local food bank while simultaneously feeding the need for women’s health and fitness. Last year we collected 1,257 pounds of food for the Food Bank of El Dorado County. This year our goal is 1,500 pounds. We are asking for everyone in the community to get involved. This is traditionally a slow time for food banks and they need our support,” said Ky Bessom, Placerville Curves manager.
This year, Curves is inviting both non-members and members to take part in the food drive by bringing in a bag of non-perishable food or a monetary contribution of at least $30 to be donated to the Food Bank of El Dorado County.
All new members who make a food or monetary donation will have the service fee waived when joining Curves as either a fitness or Curves complete member.
Placerville Curves is located in the County Fair Shopping Center at 81 Fair Lane in Placerville.
