Placerville, Pioneer, and Mother Lode Lions clubs invite the public to a community-wide fund-raising event to safely dispose of e-waste and shred unwanted documents on Saturday, March 23.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mother Lode Lions’ Club at 4701 Missouri Flat Road in Placerville.

Accepted items include: TVs (all sizes), monitors, computers, computer peripherals, cell phones, printers, copiers, fax machines, audio and video equipment, microwaves and more.

Car batteries or large appliances (e.g. stoves, refrigerators, air conditioning units and lawnmowers/yard equipment) or shred hard-drives can not be accepted as e-waste.

A $10 donation per vehicle is suggested but all donation amounts are welcome. One hundred per cent of all donations collected will be used to support the recovery of Jimi Lee Rogers, a young man injured by a hit-and-run driver.

E-waste services are donated by Argosy E-cycling and Shred Biz.
