Train fanatics take heed: Carson City’s steam round-trip to the Gold Canyon and back is adding one additional ride Saturday, Sept. 29. Relax during a vintage train ride on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad and enjoy gourmet snacks paired with a glass of wine and scenic river canyon views.
The hour-long train ride begins at 4:30 p.m., seven miles east of Carson City on Highway 50 at 4650 Eastgate Depot Sliding Road. The train returns at 6 p.m.
The train ride is $25 per person or $20 when continuing on a long run from Virginia City. It is handicapped accessible in certain situations but not all. Special needs patrons need to make arrangements beforehand.
