SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — MontBleu Resort Casino & Spas kicks off its powerful summer line-up this weekend.

The alt-rock band, The Virgins, who take the MontBleu Theater stage on Saturday, June 8, bringing dance-driven riffs meshed with vocal-laced songs. The Virgins have shared the stage with Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Lou Reed, Sonic Youth and Patti Smith, and have appeared on David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon.

On July 6, the Wayans Brothers, Shawn and Marlon, will have the audience laughing through Fourth of July weekend as they deliver one punchline after another for their stand-up routine.

The Village People take the stage, Aug. 3, and comedian Whitney Cummings will execute her hilarious stand-up on Aug. 9. Cummings, a Los Angeles-based comedian, stars, writes and executive produces her autobiographical sitcom, “Whitney,” on NBC.

MontBleu’s summer outdoor concert series kicks off with the second annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival, Saturday, June 29. Tahoe’s taste of island irie at the 5,200-seat outdoor amphitheater will feature breezy Jamaican rhythms and reggae ska beats from headliners SOJA and Alpha Blondy, along with special guests Passafire, Stickfigure, Tomorrows Bad Seed and Island of Black & White.

On July 14,  two classic bands,  the B-52’s and KC & the Sunshine Band, will perform. On July 18, Slightly Stoopid’s “Kick Up the Dust” Tour stop enlists Atmosphere, notoriously savvy Bay Area Living Legends MCs The Grouch and Eligh, and rising San Diego local favorite Tribal Seeds. This dynamic lineup is guaranteed to create a trailblazing summer soundtrack, and a noteworthy rite of passage and tradition for South Shore Lake Tahoe-bound summertime concert-goers.

Tickets are $37.50 and can be bought through Ticketmaster.com or the MontBleu Box office 888-829-7630.
