Everyone knows the music and everyone has the moves. For one night only, Saturday, Aug. 3 MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa is the “place you can go” to rock out to The Village People.
With more than three decades of party music, The Village People will perform all of its hits, “YMCA,” “In The Navy” and “Macho Man,” and “Go West,” plus disco cover classics packaged and arranged to bring fans to their feet. The show inside the MontBleu Theater begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available through Ticketmaster.com or the MontBleu box office, 888-829-7630.
Clad in every day working-man garb, The Village People have been a cultural phenomenon since hitting the disco scene in 1977. The Village People are Eric Anzalone, Alex Briley, Felipe Rose, David Hodo, Ray Simpson and Jeff Olson.
Known for the costumes and producing songs to celebrate freedom and acceptance, the group’s music is a standard played at pro football, basketball and baseball games and in movies and television. They have sold upwards of 100 million records world-wide.
When they haven’t been touring, the six-member group is recording. The latest creation, called “Back to the Dance Floor,” was produced and co-written by KC of KC and the Sunshine Band, who appeared at MontBleu in July.
