Sac State opens farmers markets

Associated Students Inc. is bringing three farmers markets to California State University, Sacramento campus at the Serna Plaza.

The markets will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays through May 9.

Students, staff and faculty will have the chance to purchase farm-fresh products including olive oil, honey, carrots, heirloom tomatoes, herbs, lemons, oranges and apples directly from local farmers.

This year’s markets follow a successful pilot run last spring that featured two vendors and will feature certified vendors such as Capay Organic, Humble Roots Farm, Boucher Plants, Mt. Moriah Farms and Loving Nature Farm.

Vendors interested in participating in the upcoming or future farmers markets can visit the ASI Website at asi.csus.edu/programs/farmers-market/ for more information.
