‘Ballroom With A Twist,’ coming to the Harris Center, 10 College Parkway in Folsom, on the weekend of Nov. 1 to 3, is a critically acclaimed international dance production conceived and choreographed by ABC-TVs “Dancing with the Stars,” Emmy-nominated Louis van Amstel.

This groundbreaking show, starring “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity pros Dmitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower and Oksana Dmytrenko, together with finalists from TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol” singers Gina Glocksen and Von Smith, pushes the boundaries of ballroom dance, infusing it with the energy and intensity of the latest contemporary and hip-hop styles.

“Ballroom with a Twist” is an evening of entertainment for the entire family, highlighted by stunning costumes, magnificent music and breathtaking performances.

Emmy-nominated choreographer, international world champion and consummate professional, Louis van Amstel has devoted his life towards perfecting his craft. He first began his Dancesport career training in a theater school where he gained a background in ballet, tap and jazz while simultaneously engaging in rigorous competitions.

Upon graduating, he attended the University of the Arts in Amsterdam to enhance his skills in the classical dances and theory. He has been in the world of Dancesport for nearly two decades now and has appeared in guest roles on several hit TV shows. Most prominently, van Amstel was featured in Seasons one through three of “Dancing with the Stars;” a show that has become a pop culture phenomenon in both the U.S. and abroad.

His success led him to serve as creative director, choreographer and performer in the “Dancing with the Stars Touring Show” which has performed in cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Chaplin is one of the most recognized ballroom dancers and choreographers in the United States and around the world.

For the past five years, Hightower has wowed audiences with her dancing skills as a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Dmytrenko has been a force in the world of competitive dance since the age of 6.

The Friday, Nov. 1 is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 is at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and  Sunday, Nov. 3 is at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $39 to $59 and premium tickets are $69.
