Sierra Oro Farm Trail members open for a holiday event

By From page B4 | December 14, 2012

For the first time, the Sierra Oro Farm Trail in Placer County is hosting a free event the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16, titled “Holidays on the Farm Trail.”

Select farms will be open and offering exclusive holiday specials and discounts for shoppers searching for their favorite local products and gifts.

“This is a great chance for people to support family farms, just in time for the holidays,” said Nicole Johansson, event organizer. “It also allows some of our farmers whose products aren’t yet in season during Passport Weekend in October — such as the mandarin farms and Mountain View Christmas Tree Farm — to showcase their products during their high season.”

Participating farms will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
