Silver Screen Classic Movie Series continues on Saturday, Feb. 2, with a dark adventure-drama from 1936.

Arrested for kidnapping, an innocent, Joe Wilson pleads for mercy, but the enraged mob torches the jail. He escapes but they think he’s dead.

Convinced of their own guilt now, fearful of the law, they become human and their fury becomes his.

This movie is shown at 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. in the Beecher Room of the Auburn Library, 350 Nevada St. in Auburn. Presented by the library, the movie is free.
