FOLSOM — It’s called a Blues Harmonica Blowout for good reason. Mark Hummel and his band are joined by an all-star harmonica lineup: Lazy Lester (who worked with Slim Harpo and Lightnin’ Slim), Rick Estrin (of Little Charlie and The Nightcats), Grammy-nominee Kenny Neal, Kim Wilson (The Fabulous Thunderbirds), and guitarists Charlie Baty (in a rare reunion with his Little Charlie colleague Estrin) and Joe Louis Walker (who has worked with everybody, including John Lee Hooker, Muddy Water, Jimi Hendrix and more), all paying tribute to Jimmy Reed.
The show is sponsored by Capital Public Radio.
“This series was started in 1991 and has grown to become an international event,” Executive Director Dave Pier said. “It sold out briskly last year here at Three Stages and we expect this to be a popular event this year.”
Mark Hummel’s Blues Harmonica Blowout will perform in Three Stages on Friday, Jan 11 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $19 to $29, with premium tickets $39 and students with an ID are $12. Tickets may be purchased online at threestages.net or from the Three Stages ticket office at 916-608-6888 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time.
Three Stages is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus, 10 College Parkway in Folsom.
