Sweet treats at Sierra Vista Winery

By From page B3 | February 08, 2013

Dazzle you sweetheart with an afternoon of music, wine tasting and luscious desserts at Sierra Vista Winery, 4560 Cabernet Way in Placerville, on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17. Enjoy the beautiful music by classically trained Phillip Reddin, from the San Francisco Conservatory, in the romantic barrel room while sipping wine and savoring Allez’s desserts.

The party starts at noon and goes until 4 p.m.

Toast your sweetheart with the recently released sparkling wine, paired with mille feuille aux pommes. The dessert name refers to the many layers of flakey puff pastry alternating with caramelized apples and cream.

The sweet viognier, Viognier Doux, is served with a profiterole laced with Grand Marnier.

Those who enjoy the more substantial wines will love the fortified Tawnie Grenache with blue cheese and pecans.

No Valentine event is complete without chocolate. The Rubie Syrah will be paired with a rich chocolate Marquise.

There will be special prices on featured wines as well as gift roses for the ladies.

Space in the barrel room is limited so make your reservations early. Cost is $10 per person or $5 per wine club member. Four per wine club membership.

To attend RSVP to [email protected] or call 530-622-7221 by Feb. 10.
