Gold Country Artists Gallery, 379 Main St. in Placerville, Aug. 4-Sept. 1, is featuring Barbara Steffen, jeweler and lampwork art glass artisan, who creates beautiful glass beads for handcrafted bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Also featured this month is Susan Hayne, printmaker, and Kelly Morris, photographer. The cooperative gallery of 50 local professional artists is open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with extended hours until 9 p.m. for Third Saturday Art Walk on Aug. 16 and until 8:30 Friday evenings through the summer. The Fair Play American Viticultural Area is showcasing its vintages during a series of events from Aug. 1-31 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on event days. Enjoy the wines from this unique area at the Fair Play Wine and Art Festival. Chateau Routon, 2800 Omo Ranch Road, is featuring local artwork, photography, jewelry and “consumable art” on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2 and 3.
