The Placerville Downtown Association is presenting Banners on Parade on Main Street June 9 through Oct. 20. This event will feature painted banners on the light posts on Main Street. A walking tour map of these artful pieces will be available at several Main Street locations. At the end of the show, the banners will be auctioned on Oct. 20 at the Art and Wine Festival. Gold Country Artists Gallery, 379 Main St. in Placerville, through Sept. 2, will feature outstanding oil painter, Bruce Gruenzel. His realistic style is influenced by the old Dutch and Russian masters. Donna Bamford, also featured, creates original three dimensional forms in mixed media using clay and natural materials. Holly’s Hill Vineyard, 3680 Leisure Lane in the Pleasant Valley area, is having its Patriarche Vertical Tasting on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taste all vintages of the Patriarche ever produced starting with the 2002 and ending with the 2010. This is the only time of the year to sample all vintages. Appetizers will be provided. It is free to club members and $5 per person for the general public.
