Gold Country Artists Gallery, 379 Main St. in Placerville, through Sept. 2, is featuring Donna Bamford, a new artist in the gallery. Bamford creates original sculptural forms in mixed media using clay, painting and a variety of natural materials. Oil painter, Bruce Gruenzel is also featured. The Placerville Downtown Association is presenting Banners on Parade on Main Street through Oct. 20. This event will feature painted banners on the light posts on Main Street. A walking tour map of these artful pieces will be available at several Main Street locations. At the end of the show, the banners will be auctioned on Oct. 20 at the Art and Wine Festival. A Mega Reunion at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville, is Saturday, Aug. 25. Students who attended Ponderosa, Oak Ridge or El Dorado high school between 1983 to 1990 are invited for a day and evening of fun, visiting and dancing. Check in starts at 10 a.m. There will be activities during the day, food by Twice Baked Potato and music in the evening by Inspector 71. Cost is $35 per person or $60 for a couple.
