Gold Country Artists Gallery, 379 Main St. in Placerville, through Dec. 2, is featuring the outstanding photography of Soroush Mostafanejad. Soroush focuses on unusual subjects and exciting color and form. The gallery is also featuring the unique and original pottery of Lisa Bone. The gallery of 44 professional artists is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours until 9 p.m. for Third Saturday Art Walk on Nov. 17. There will be live music by Coon Hollow, Alan Fuller and Jenny Rutherford.

is showing the works of Emek. The one named artist has a big place in the art world. In Emek’s posters, psychedelic ’60s imagery collides with ’90s post-industrial iconography. El Dorado Arts Council’s ArtSpace, 459 Main St., is exhibiting the “Pastels on High” International Exhibition through Dec. 1. The public is invited to meet the artists at a gala reception and awards presentation at the gallery on Third Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6.
