“Kacie’s Ride for Hope,” a motorcycle run to end domestic violence is Saturday, Sept. 8. Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. on Main Street by the Belltower. All proceeds to benefit the Center for Violence-free Relationships. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 530-626-8405.

The El Dorado Historical Society is conducting guided tours of Main Street in Placerville on Saturdays until the end of September. The tour begins at the Fountain/Tallman Museum at 11:30 a.m. and lasts about 90 minutes. Tour guides are dressed in period costume and describe historical locations on Main Street between Cedar Ravine and Sacramento Street. Although the tour is free, donations to the Fountain/Tallman are encouraged at a suggested rate of $2 per adult or $5 per family.

The annual MORE Chili Cook-off and Classic Car Show is at Burke Junction, 3300 Coach Lane in Cameron Park, Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is a donation of $7 per adult, $5 for children 10 and under and under 3 free which will buy tastes of all the chili, a vote for the favorite chili and a vote for a favorite car. Drinks and snacks will be available also. The classic car show gets under way at 10 a.m. and the chili will be ready at noon. Proceeds benefit Mother Lode Rehabilitation Enterprises Inc.
